When a door and window industry leader meets one of the top homebuilders in the United States, the result is happy homeowners in residences they can be comfortable in and proud of for years to come.

Over the years, Scottsdale-based Meritage Homes and Phoenix-based Western Window Systems have forged a steady and fruitful relationship, creating stunning homes outfitted with windows and door systems that focus on the highly sought-after indoor-outdoor living experience.

Founded in 1985 in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale, Meritage has grown into one of the most respected builders in the nation, constructing more than 90,000 houses in nine states, including California, Texas, Florida, and Arizona. The company is in the Forbes Platinum 400 Best Big Companies of America and has been named Texas’ Builder of the Year five times.

In early 2016, Meritage Homes was recognized for the fourth time by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year-Sustained Excellence Award for the company’s advances in energy-efficient homebuilding. Meritage became the first major national homebuilder to make all its new homes ENERGY STAR-certified, meaning homeowners conserve energy and cut their utility bills in half.

And also earlier this year, the firm announced it would install high-efficiency solar panels on all new homes built in the Orlando area.

“Meritage is an energy-conscious builder and one of the first production builders to introduce the concept of a net zero energy home,” says Chet Willis, Western Window Systems’ vice president of production builder sales, referring to a house that produces as much energy as it consumes. “Meritage is on the forefront of smart technology, as well as water and energy conservation.”

Energy efficiency is a hallmark of Western Window Systems products as well, which is why Meritage turns to the Series 600 Multi-Slide and 90-Degree Doors and Series 3600 Vinyl Multi-Slide Doors. These products feature dual-pane low-E glass, low U-values for enhanced energy efficiency, and are AAMA- and NFRC-tested and certified.

As of August 2016, Meritage and Western Window Systems had 18 projects in various stages of completion in Arizona, California, Georgia, and Texas. And the two companies have worked together on such stunning housing communities as The Pinnacle at Stonebrae Country Club in the Bay Area city of Hayward, Bellissima in Cave Creek, Arizona, and Querencia in Peoria, Arizona.

Says Willis: “Simply put, Meritage has been a great partner.”
