This year’s NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS), the largest builders’ show and conference in the United States, will be held January 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. And for the third year in a row, Western Window Systems is a huge part of the event.
“We’re excited to showcase our products in real-life settings,” says Scott Gates, president and CEO of Western Window Systems. “We think it’s the best way for event attendees to truly experience the benefits of indoor-outdoor living.”
Products from Western Window Systems will be featured in two modular show homes in Professional Builder’s Show Village, located in the convention center’s parking lot. The first is a residence that will eventually become part of a four-home development in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. A partnership between Los Angeles-based development company Ark and KRDB/ma modular, a design and build firm in Austin, Texas, the development will “serve as a paragon of design efficiency and value while targeting an Emerald Environmental Rating from the NAHB.”
“Our primary mission is to make modern design accessible, both economically and intellectually, to the broadest cross-section of the population,” says Chris Krager, AIA and principal of KRDB/ma modular. “Modern is not simply an adjective; it’s a methodology.”
The Ultimate Kitchen, the second prefabricated residence from Irontown Homes, emphasizes energy efficiency, modern technology, and indoor-outdoor living.

In addition, the Responsive Homes at Inspirada, two new idea homes from TRI Pointe Group’s Pardee Homes Las Vegas division, will be unveiled in Henderson, Nevada, on January 19. Designed by award-winning architectural firm Bassenian Lagoni, the Responsive Homes are designed and built for the Millennial generation and feature several of Western Window Systems’ energy-efficient door systems to expand living areas and connect the indoors with the outside.
“Seamless indoor-outdoor living was key for this buyer group,” says Hans Anderle, vice president and senior designer at Bassenian Lagoni. “Expanding spaces visually and with door systems that open to create larger living spaces for entertaining helps meet the dual desires of this buyer segment.”
