In the world of business in the 21st century, information technology is the backbone of just about any organization. And Western Window Systems is no different. From the company’s online quoting system to its overcoming numerous hurdles amid a major move, the IT department is a 24/7 operation.

Chief Information Officer John Engelstad has been there every step of the way, overseeing a growing department faced with increasing demands regarding every aspect of the company.

Since starting with Western Window Systems in November 2015, John has proved himself invaluable to the day-to-day and long-term operation of the company. John has implemented numerous changes in IT since coming aboard, including developing new organization structures to facilitate process improvement, establishing a disaster recovery plans that ensures minimal impact to end users, and instituting new methods of dealer support to create a more customer service-oriented environment.

And his team appreciates John’s efforts in creating a highly functional department.

“John has provided an environment that supports and encourages team unity,” the IT team wrote in nominating him for manager of the quarter in 2016. “He leverages our strengths and empowers us.”

No one knows better than John that technology never sleeps, and he is always ready to tackle the increasingly complex challenges that arise in the world of IT.
