Evan Wu

Have you noticed the improved artwork and overall visual presentation of the posters, signs, and TV screens around the office lately? We hope so. More than a little of the credit goes to graphic designer Evan Wu.

Evan, who started at Western Window Systems in June 2015, has left his mark on everything from internal documents to signage to the Volume Program tablets that have been such a hit with dealers.

“Boring documents make for boring office work,” says vice president of marketing Laura Hahnefeld. “Evan rolls up his sleeves to bring life to our documents so that our employees and partners have highly functional, visually awesome documents to use.”

And Evan is Johnny-on-the-spot when a crisis arises. Take, for example, when one of the company’s trucks was not in compliance with state Department of Transportation standards, an issue that needed immediate attention.

“Even though he had other work to do and wasn’t even sure how to do what was asked of him, he figured it out and managed to get the problem solved ASAP,” a member of the marketing team said.

That’s not the only time Evan came to the rescue on a project.

“In a situation where no one in our department knew how to complete a task,” another member of the marketing team said, “Evan volunteered to figure it out. He researched how to do what he needed, worked hard, and ultimately completed the task.”

He does it all with a smile on his face, part of the friendly and courteous nature that his co-workers like so much about him. Maybe that’s why people are stopping by his desk on a daily basis looking for help with a project, even if it’s outside his job description.

“He is willing to help in any way to get things done,” says one of Evan’s co-workers on the marketing team. “He pays attention to even the smallest details and is a perfectionist when it comes to his work.”

Congratulations to Evan Wu, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for May.
