Robert Elkins

The demands and rigors facing the shipping department are many. That’s why it’s so important to have employees like Robert Elkins manning the area.

Elkins, a locator who started at Western Window Systems in February of this year, is the kind of guy who steps up every time and delivers every time.

“Since Day One, everything we have given him, he has taken it and run with it,” says shipping manager Mike “Hollywood” Flores. “He is not afraid of challenges. In fact, he actually asks for more opportunities to challenge himself.”

One of those challenges he took on wound up bettering the department’s operation.

“He worked side by side with the engineering department on improving the flow of shipping. He has changed shipping completely,” Flores says. “In working with them, he has helped develop the processes we currently use to stage orders.”

And when Robert gets a job done (usually to perfection, Flores says), he immediately finds someone else to whom he can lend a hand.

“Robert automatically goes to help anybody else in shipping, no matter how late it is,” Flores says. “He just does whatever needs to get done.”

Congratulations to Robert Elkins, Western Window Systems’ day shift shop employee of the month for June.
