Martha Ochoa

Efficiency is one of the most important elements of manufacturing. Being more efficient means saving money and increasing production. And thanks to screens lead Martha Ochoa, efficiency on the shop floor has improved.

“When running parts on the CNC, Martha noticed there was an extra step when running top and bottom parts that was unnecessary,” says wood door manager Ron Stock. “After confirming there was an extra step with management, there now is one fewer process when it comes to these parts.”

It’s just one example of many that shows how valuable she is.

“I cannot come up with one example because Martha has come up with so many different ways to improve her area,” says production manager Chris Allgood.

Martha, who started with the company in October 2014, also has an eye for detail and takes the Western Window Systems standard of excellence seriously.

“She is a good example of someone who accepts no defects and will not pass on a product containing defects,” says Stock. “Martha is all about quality and being correct the first time being on time for the customer.”

When it comes to the core value of partnership, Martha is exemplary, with her managers pointing to her strong relationship with the storeroom.

“She feeds back information to the storeroom about the quality of the hardware that goes into our products,” says Allgood. “Then the storeroom gives feedback to vendors to ensure the customer receives the operating and quality product they need.”

And perhaps just as important as all her other qualities, Martha leaves no job unfinished.

“Martha is always here and refuses to leave until the work is done and the department is prepped for the next day,” Stock says.

Congratulations to Martha Ochoa, Western Window Systems’ day shift shop employee of the month for June.
