William Joy

In the 2017 fourth-quarter employee survey, many people listed “opportunity for growth” at the company as a determining factor to stay at Western Window Systems.

Few employees exemplify that opportunity better than William Joy, panels lead on the night shift. William started on the saw during the day shift and then moved on to the day-side panels team, quickly learning and mastering that craft. And when a leadership void opened on the night shift, he jumped at the chance to be the team lead and grow right along with the company itself.

“While the night shift was struggling here and there to achieve the number of panels needed every night, William stepped in and grabbed the reins,” says manager Daniel Thompson.

William, who started with the company in March 2015, soon began making a difference in the amount of panels going through the night shift, as well as the amount of training the new guys received.

“He has a great attitude,” Thompson says. “So much so that everyone on the night crew accepted him and welcomed him as their lead.”

The result? As they say, here we grow again.

Congratulations to William Joy, Western Window Systems’ night shift shop employee of the month for February.
