On the mission of eliminating starvation on a global level, the approach of the nonprofit organization Feed My Starving Children is simple: hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children and ship them to nearly 70 countries around the world.

On March 6, Western Volunteers, Western Window Systems’ volunteer organization made up of employees and employee family members, took that approach to heart, helping to pack 57 boxes (over 12,000 meals) to keep 33 kids fed for an entire year.

On his first Western Volunteers experience, payroll and accounts payable team member Owen Ayres, who scooped and restocked rice at the event, had this to say:

“I didn’t expect it to be so much fun. It was lively and there was so much energy. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
