The Western Window Systems family stepped up in a big way this holiday season by providing food and toys for those in the Phoenix area who are less fortunate. The company’s seventh annual Holiday Toy Drive and the Out of the Box Food Drive brought holiday relief to numerous families in need.

“The people I work with care about others year-round,” says Western Window Systems production manager Chris Allgood. “The biggest impact we can make as a team here at Western Window Systems is passing on our blessings to others.”

Employees and their families donated hundreds of new unwrapped toys for kids ages 2 through 17. The gifts will be distributed through local charity St. Vincent de Paul and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Toy Patrol.

The-Out-of-the-Box Food Drive also was a success this year, with employees giving to families in need through three methods: filling boxes with prepackaged food items sought by the Salvation Army, loose donations of non-perishable food items, and donations of cold, hard cash.

Several employees also volunteered their time by shopping for items and readying boxes for packing, as well as loading a Western Window Systems truck with packed boxes and unloading them at the Salvation Army’s downtown facility.

“Every year we get more donations,” Allgood says. “The effort by the employees here brings tears to my eyes every year.”
