Scott Gates, President and CEO

Scott Gates is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Western Window Systems.

Prior to beginning his role as president and CEO in August 2015, Scott served as the company’s president and chief operating officer following assignments as vice president and general manager and marketing director. He played a key role in growing the window and door manufacturer’s sales over 800% over a five-year period, an increase that led to Inc. magazine naming Western Window Systems as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. in 2014 and 2015.

As president and CEO, Scott oversees the strategic direction of the company, including delivering on record-breaking sales and overseeing growth enablers such as new products, market expansion, development of sales and marketing strategies, leadership initiatives, and development of company culture.

Scott, who joined Western Window Systems in 2011, holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA from Arizona State University. In 2014, Scott was selected for Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Select, an award celebrating the achievements of leaders that demonstrate innovation, growth, and entrepreneurial spirit. In 2015, he was named one of 30 exceptional executive MBA (EMBA) graduates from the class of 2015 by Poets & Quants, a business school news website.

In 2016, Scott was selected by Professional Builder magazine as one of the nation’s top building industry leaders under the age of 40.


John Engelstad | Chief Information Officer

John Engelstad, Chief Information Officer

John Engelstad is chief information officer (CIO) for Western Window Systems. He reports to president and chief operating officer Scott Gates.

John oversees the development and implementation of the company’s technology strategy, including CustomView, Western Window Systems’ online quoting and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) system. His team is responsible for central IT infrastructure, applications, and information security.

Before joining Western Window Systems in 2015, John held several senior positions at Bank of America, including vice president and senior technology manager of design and capacity management, and senior vice president and senior technology manager of service delivery. Prior to Bank of America, John was a telecommunications architect, programmer, and analyst for Countrywide Financial Corporation (acquired by Bank of America).

John has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from California Lutheran University and an MBA from Arizona State University. His interests include travel, home improvement projects, and spending time with family.


Heather Zorge | Chief Financial Officer

Heather Zorge, Chief Financial Officer

Heather Zorge is Western Window Systems’ chief financial officer (CFO) reporting to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates. She is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial activities and operations.

Heather has over 20 years of experience leading and building finance teams. Prior to starting her career with Western Window Systems in 2016, she was CFO for American Traffic Solutions, senior vice president of finance for Petroplus, and business assurance manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Heather graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She’s also a certified public accountant (CPA) in Arizona. Heather serves on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Blind Children. She enjoys watching her boys play soccer, working out, and spending time with family and friends.


Cameron Wyatt | Vice President of Design and Supply Chain

Cameron Wyatt, Vice President of Design and Supply Chain

Arizona-born Cameron Wyatt is vice president of design and supply chain for Western Window Systems, reporting to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates. He leads a team of people responsible for delivering award-winning products to the market, developing key supplier partnerships, and ensuring Western Window Systems products meet the highest standards of quality.

Cameron joined Western Window Systems in 2013 as supply chain manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the University of Arizona and a Stanford Certified Project Manager certificate from Stanford University. His interests include Formula 1 racing, solar power, and space exploration.


Dean Seger | Vice President of Manufacturing

Dean Seger, Vice President of Manufacturing

In his role of vice president of manufacturing, Dean Seger directs, manages, and coordinates all activities associated with the manufacturing and maintenance of Western Window Systems’ high-quality products. Reporting to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates, Dean is a key contributor to the company’s lean production and quality control practices, which have resulted in shortened lead times, the elimination and reduction of waste, and meeting and exceeding quality standards.

Prior to joining Western Window Systems in 2014, Dean held a number of executive roles at Schuff Steel and John Deere. He holds a bachelor’s degree in welding engineering from Ohio State University and enjoys woodworking, metalworking, and home improvement projects.


Chet Willis | Vice President of Production Builder Sales

Chet Willis, Vice President of Production Builder Sales

Chet Willis is Western Window Systems’ vice president of production builder sales, reporting to president and chief operating officer Scott Gates. He is responsible for the business operations and management of the company’s Volume Program, designed to help production builders differentiate their homes and drive sales.

Under Chet’s leadership, his team grew production builder sales to nearly 500% in 2013 and 2014. He joined Western Window Systems in 2011.

Chet has over 20 years of experience in the fenestration industry. Prior to joining Western Window Systems, he was chief operating officer at Paramount Windows Corporation, one of the largest privately held window and door manufacturers in the Southwest. He enjoys playing music and is a motorcycle enthusiast.


Andrew Darr | Vice President of Custom Sales

Andrew Darr, Vice President of Custom Sales

In his role of vice president of custom sales, Andrew Darr is responsible for Western Window Systems’ custom sales and development efforts. He reports to president and chief operating officer Scott Gates. Andrew has been instrumental in developing sales metrics and conducting competitive market research that helped the company achieve a sales growth of over 200% over a three-year period.

Prior to this assignment, Andrew, who joined the company in 2011, was a custom sales manager and territory representative for Western Window Systems. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas and played for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team. He loves to travel and is an avid fan of college football.


Rob Robichaud | Director of Human Resources

Rob Robichaud, Director of Human Resources

Rob Robichaud is Western Window Systems’ director of human resources, responsible for attracting and retaining top talent, total rewards, and employee development. He reports to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates. Prior to joining the company in 2014, Rob was regional vice president of human resources at Education Management Corporation and division director of human resources at The Home Depot.

Rob earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Eastern Washington University and a master’s degree in criminology from Washington State University. He’s expected to graduate with a master’s degree in human resources management from Argosy University in 2015. Rob is a Society for Human Resource Management certified professional and is certified through the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Rob enjoys woodworking and repurposing wood furniture.


Laura Hahnefeld | Marketing Director

Laura Hahnefeld, Marketing Director

In her role as marketing director for Western Window Systems, Laura Hahnefeld is responsible for establishing and implementing strategic communications plans. She reports to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates.

Prior to joining the company in 2014, Laura held advertising positions in Fortune 500 companies such as Sears, Kohl’s, and PetSmart. Also a published writer, she has worked as a staff writer at Phoenix New Times and as a freelance writer at Phoenix Magazine.

Laura graduated from Kendall College of Art & Design with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She is a volunteer for Girls Rock! Phoenix, a nonprofit organization that empowers girls through music, education, and creation.


Ty Cranford | Architectural Director and National Sales Manager, Canada

Ty Cranford, Business Development Manager

Ty Cranford is Western Window Systems’ architectural director and national sales manager for Canada. He reports to Andrew Darr, vice president of custom sales.

Before his current role, Ty was the business development manager and architectural representative for the company, where he was responsible for opening and establishing dealers in 30 states as well as Canada. He has grown his markets an average of 127% per year since 2011. As architectural director, Ty’s focus is expanding and managing his team to be a driving force in promoting new sales and increasing market share.

Ty has over 25 years of experience in the door and window industry. Prior to joining Western Window Systems in 2007, he held several roles of increasing responsibility at Texas-based distributor Dea Window and Door Co. In 2001, he opened and managed a retail division of Dea.

Ty serves on the board of directors for the Town Meadows community HOA in Gilbert, Arizona, and is active at the Mission Community Church of Gilbert, Arizona. He enjoys camping, boating and ATVing.


De Anne Hayhurst | Inside Sales Manager

De Anne Hayhurst, Inside Sales Manager

De Anne Hayhurst is Western Window Systems' inside sales manager, reporting to vice president of custom sales Andrew Darr. In addition to providing organizational management for all inside sales customer support functions, she is a liaison between internal and external teams and dealer partners, and is responsible for quotation and sales reporting activities.

In her over twenty-year career at Western Window Systems, De Anne has held managerial positions as contract sales service/project manager and office manager as well as taken on various roles in the company’s accounting, installation/service scheduling, and dealer sales service departments.

De Anne enjoys camping in Northern Arizona as well as gardening and spending time on the beach.


Jeff Kesar | Creative Director

Jeff Kesar, Creative Director

In his role as creative director, Jeff Kesar is responsible for formulating innovative concepts that support the Western Window Systems brand as well as overseeing the company’s photography. He reports to president and chief executive officer Scott Gates

Prior to joining the company in 2012, Jeff managed his own business for over a decade, specializing in website design and development, graphic design, and video production.

Jeff earned a bachelor’s degree in visual communication from Collins College. He enjoys camping, fishing, and sand duning.


Todd Hayhurst | Quality and Service Manager

Todd Hayhurst, Quality and Service Manager

Todd Hayhurst is Western Window Systems’ quality and service manager, responsible for promoting quality achievement and improvement, and training internal teams and outside partners on product details. He reports to the vice president of manufacturing Dean Seger.

Prior to joining the company in 1996, Todd spent eight years in the aerospace industry. In his two decades with Western Window Systems, he has held managerial and supervisory roles in the company’s saw, project, installation, and contract departments, and was the company’s California sales representative for nine years.

Todd enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, and watching football.


Chris Allgood | Production Manager

Chris Allgood, Production Manager

As production manager, Chris Allgood oversees the coordination and control of Western Window Systems’ manufacturing processes. He reports to Dean Seger, vice president of manufacturing.

Chris has been in the fenestration industry for over 20 years. Before starting his career with the Western Window Systems in 2008 as a shipping manager, he held various roles at other window and door manufacturers.

Chris is currently working on a bachelor’s degree in business management as well as a certificate in operations from the University of Phoenix. He volunteers with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and enjoys competitive softball and spending time with his family.
